About BCSS Editions - Intro, Deluxe and Diamond (continued)

BCSS Intro is a starter program that records and manages consignor information, processes sales (including auto-computation of sales tax(es), change due customer and settlements due consignors). It prints address labels and price labels. It auto-fills and prints consignment agreements with consignor and shop information. Basic important sales and consignor reports are included. It's an all-around good egg for 99 bucks.

Using Intro, inventory and discounts are entered at the point of sale, saving a considerable amount data entry (time, effort and money) for items that never sell and/or for shops that don't need or want to track inventory.

Intro is a simple program that does a whole lot for $99. Understandably, competitors trying to get $1,000 and more from software users hate Intro. Our users love it!

What one thing sets BCSS Deluxe apart from Intro? Better to ask, "How much more is Deluxe (in features and cost)?

Intro prints sticky price labels, 30 per sheet. Deluxe prints a wide variety of labels and hang tags with or without bar codes. It reads bar codes. It 'batches' many functions so processes like settlements, label and check printing can be done at the flick of a button. Deluxe can auto-discount aged inventory, or not. The number of reports jump from a few essentials to over 300. Deluxe handles buy outright, layaway, house-account, rentals and special sales promotions.

BCSS Diamond is in a class all its own. What's better than Deluxe? Thermal printing, including price tags with bar codes - Complete management of customers (buyers, not consignors) and employees (each with a different commission schedule, a different level of access to areas of store information - Each employee's cash drawer can be audited at any time.) Multiple computers sharing the same reliable database (networking) - Mall space rental management...

Warning Before you get locked into a software program, consider this:

Networking - Hopefully you will succeed and your business will grow. You computer needs will also increase and you will have to purchase additional copies of the software to network is connecting 2 or more computers together to share the same information. Consider this now, before you get locked into a software program.

As your business grows, so will your need for computing capacity. Software providers are keenly aware of this so they knock down initial prices to lure you in hopes of getting more of your store profits later. They think of it as an 'investment'. "I'll give up $200 now to get $600 in 2 years."

This ploy was recently exacerbated by Wilson at 'Consignpro' who contrived the idea of raising annual support fees for those who network from $125 per year to $250. The cost is $300 per computer plus $250 annually to network 5 PCs.

BCSS Networking licenses: $100 each ($300 elsewhere)
